![]() ![]() ![]() To keep things descriptive, I just use the primary device IP (or in this case, the WAN CARP IP.) Router ID does not actually need to be the IP address it is just a 32-bit number. We need to Enable FRR, Master Password is required, select a CARP Status IP, and provide a router ID. In the pfSense web interface, go to System \ Package Manager.Īfter installation, we need to configure the OSPF settings.įirst we will go to Services \ FRR Global/Zebra PfSense has several packages available for OSPF, and I decided to use FRR. I already have VLAN 100 for pfsync, so I created a new VLAN 110 for a 10.10.10.0/24 network. Doing this means we will not need to create static routes for the VLANs created within pfSense.įirst thing is to create another VLAN in pfSense. Now we need to configure OSPF so that all VLANs created within pfSense will get advertised out to our router. For your questions, XGS-PON OLT and ONU, does it have management and SLA functionality? What is the best way to use these OLT/ONU modules? Is there a management layer for SLA (speed traffic shaping), etc? I'm sorry to let you know that #142707 can only realize the Optical and electrical signal conversion, and don't have the functions you described. In part 1, we set up the high-availbility pfSense pair. This answer is on the OLT-SFP on FS, not sure what the ONT does but looking at the comments in the thread linked to on Tweakers it's just not going to work. Might be that it works but as far as I've read online it won't, not unless the router OS is ready to be handling PON. The ONT that was mentioned seems to be just a plain media converter working on XGS-PON, the router is handling all the rest. ![]() I know Pfsense is extensive but it's not that extensive as far as I know. You need XGS-PON, not GPON and you need an ONT/ONU, not an OLT.īut the first reference is a XGS-PON ONU?īecause it does not have any MAC-functions which relies on the router handling all of those parts. ![]()
